About Us
Located in North Texas, this 5,000 acre ranch was established by owner, Wendell Reeder, in 1977. WAR Ranch has two primary locations - one along the Red River currently planted in crops; the other near Clarksville, Texas, home to our horse and cattle operations.
Horses
Mr. Reeder wanted to get into an equine sport where he could personally compete. He was introduced to cutting horses in 2000 and has owned and shown some outsanding individuals since that time. Two of our show horses, Miss Smokin Garfield - NCHA LTE $244,717 and MH Split The Aces - NCHA LTE $204,320, shown by Lee Francois in the Open and Wendell Reeder in the Non Pro/Amateur, are now in the broodmare band producing multiple offspring each year.
Cattle
WAR Ranch has been well known in the Simmental and Simbrah cattle breeding business for many years and had numerous Champions and Grand Champions at the most prestigious cattle shows throughout the country, uncluding the Panamerican Livestock Exposition, Nationsl Western Livestock Show, Houston International, American Royal, Texas Beef Expo, Fort Worth Stock Show, Eastern National Livestock Show, North American Livestock Show, Keystone International Livestock Expo, Simmental Breeder Sweepstakes, International Simbrah Congress, etc. Those winning bloodlines continue on in our current herd of Commerical Simmental and Simbrah cattle. We sell stockers and replacement females at the ranch.
